1 – Connecting with other business owners

LinkedIn is the epicentre of online networking. You can connect with other business owners and add them to your professional online network.

When you meet with another business owner either at a networking event or elsewhere outside of the office, make sure to connect with them on the platform, as this helps to build and maintain the business relationship you have with them.

Don’t be afraid to connect with people you don’t know personally as long as you can add value to them. For instance, if you’re looking to collaborate with a business owner you’ve never met before, connecting with them on LinkedIn is one way to put yourself on their radar (Don’t be afraid to message them either!)

 

2 – Sharing your company’s posts

Content is king. You know this because we’ve mentioned it countless times and that’s because it’s essential!

It’s great if you have a business page and are posting your company’s content from there, but why not go the extra mile and share those pieces of content or even better, post from your own account?

By sharing valuable content, your connections who don’t necessarily follow your business account will see the posts, prompting them to engage. By doing this, they are reminded of your brand.

 

3 – Participate in groups

Being part of a LinkedIn group and adding value to that group can validate your credibility and experties in your industry as you can become a resource that people trust. These groups can be used to increase the awareness of your brand, while offering your expertise to those who need it.

Many groups can be full of self-promoting and spam rather than valuable discussions and interactions, but closed communities are simply a great way to target your audience directly and engage with them.

Join groups that are related to your business, industry and your interests. By participating in a discussion, you are, again, enforcing that you are an expert and are knowledgeable within your industry.

You can also create your own LinkedIn group. To do so, you need to start by picking a topic that your audience/customers are interested in, from there you can invite your connections and grow your group.
